1.About CCP Certification of Completion of Programme
The Certification of Completion of Programme (CCP) testifies that a trainee has completed two years of comprehensive teaching and training under the senior guidance and supervision of NHS UK consultants.
This certification demonstrates that a non-trainee doctor has:
- Completed 240+ hours of teaching
- Engaged in 100+ case-based discussions
- Participated in 100 Directly Observed Procedural Skills (DOPs)
- Gained experience in self-reflective learning
The CCP in Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, or Paediatric Emergency Medicine is supported by a comprehensive portfolio (1,000+ pages), which includes:
- CBD Certificates
- Lecture Attendance Records
- Workshop Feedback
- Detailed Teaching and Learning Logs
This certificate is backed by verifiable recorded lectures that can be reproduced upon request by any organisation
A holder of this certificate is capable of teaching, training, and supervising other trainees. This certification also demonstrates that the trainee has participated in live interactive teaching, hands-on workshops, and professional development activities.
Having the CCP on a portfolio will enable trainees to get sign off their foundation and core trainee competencies from their local supervisors, Additionally, CCP prepares them to apply for Specialty Training posts at Registrar level in NHS UK
Career Advancement and Recognition
Trainees who complete membership exams and obtain the CCP Certification have successfully secured ST3 Registrar-level positions in NHS England. This reflects the value of their portfolio, competency documentation, and exam achievements.
The programme provides non-trainee doctors with a structured pathway, allowing them to:
- Present verifiable evidence of their training.
- Negotiate higher-level roles.
- Build competitive portfolios in a challenging job market.
Holding a CCP in Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, or Paediatric Emergency Medicine, alongside membership exam qualifications, has enabled LGEM trainees to secure ST3 Registrar-level posts in NHS England and negotiate better positions for themselves. This reflects the recognition of their hard work, portfolio compilation, and evidence of competency completion.
With growing competition in the UK job market, a strong portfolio differentiates doctors. A CCP in Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, or Paediatric Emergency Medicine, combined with membership exam qualifications, significantly increases job prospects and supports specialist registration through the portfolio pathway.
2.About Membership Exams
A second important outcome of this programme is comprehensive teaching and training for Membership of the Royal Colleges of the UK Exams, including MRCEM, MRCP, and MRCPCH.
Our programme is specifically designed to prepare trainees for the Membership of the Royal College exams alongside the clinical education they receive from NHS consultants.
Training Timeline:
- First 6 months: Preparation for Part 1 of the membership exams.
- Next 6 months: Focus on Part 2 preparation.
- Final 6 months: Intensive clinical exam training (OSCE, PACES, Clinical MRCPCH).
Most trainees complete:
- Part 1 within 6 months
- Part 2 within 12–18 months
- Clinical exams based on availability and preference
3.Emergency Ultrasound Competencies
Another important outcome of the programmes include Level 1 Emergency Ultrasound Competency training for Emergency Medicine and Paediatric Emergency Medicine trainees, This hands-on training is provided at a subsidised rate.
4.100 Emergency Medicine Procedures
All trainees enrolled in the Emergency Medicine or Paediatric Emergency Medicine programmes will receive hands-on training in 100 Emergency Medicine Procedures through a specialized workshop.
This workshop, valued at £800 in the UK, is provided free of charge for LGEM trainees.
5.Foundation Competencies & CREST Form
Foundation competencies are essential for applying to specialty training posts in the UK. Our programme delivers comprehensive training on all CREST form competencies under the supervision of senior NHS consultants.
Upon completion, trainees receive a letter confirming competency coverage, assisting local supervisors in signing off the CREST form in accordance with GMC guidelines.
6.Core Training Competencies
The programme ensures that trainees gain a thorough understanding of core competencies required by NHS doctors. A confirmation letter is provided, supporting sign-off from clinical supervisors.
7.Comprehensive Portfolio
Trainees will complete an extensive portfolio (1,000+ pages), including:
- Lecture Records (faculty details and learning outcomes)
- Case-Based Discussions (CBDs)
- Self-Reflective Learning (SRL)
- Teaching Presentations, Feedback & Activity Logs
This verifiable record reflects the trainee’s professional growth, achievements, and specialty competencies – a critical asset in today’s competitive job market.
8.Letters of Recommendation
Trainees who complete the programme will receive letters of recommendation from NHS UK consultants and supervisors to support job applications and career progression.
